With a chance to go to the MSHSAA State Track & Field Championships only one step away, four Lady Pirates and two Pirates made the trip to the campus of College of the Ozarks at Point Lookout near Hollister, Mo. Much like last week at District's, the contest took place on a hot day with high humidity. While yesterday's meet only saw one Pirate advance to the Championships, everyone ran hard and competed well. Here is a recap:
Jose Cortez took 7th in the 110 meter hurdles (18.74) and 8th in the 300 meter hurdles (45.65). Addison Ratliff took 5th in the 1600 meter (6:29) and 8th in the 3200 meter (15:54). Caleb Phillips took 3rd in the 1600 meter (4:38.38) and will advance to next week's Class 1 State Meet in Jefferson City. Caleb also took 5th in the 800 meter run (2:03.77) and 7th in the 3200 meter (11:20). The Lady Pirates relay team of Jade Stasiack, Addison Ratliff, Nevaeh Dorrell and Brooklyn Duggan took 7th (5:14). Thank you Lady Pirates and Jose for a great season!
