The MC Pirates Cross Country team of Addie Ratliff, Bailey Allan and Caleb Phillips competed in the Class 1 District 2 meet at Jeremy's Creek Golf Course yesterday morning in Lamar. In order to keep competing athletes must place in the top 30 of the four District meets held around the state. Bailey didn't advance, but finished with her best time to date. Congratulations to Addison and Caleb who both made the cut and will run in the Class 1 State Championships at the University of Missouri's Gans Greek course in Columbia on Friday!
Bailey finished out her season with a PR of 32:14! Bailey worked hard all season long and made a great deal of progress with each successive meet. She is a freshman and is looking foward to continuing to run this Spring as a part of the Track & Field team. Great job Bailey - way to finish strong!
Addison Ratliff also ran well today. She took 19th place with a time of 23:08 which is her best time this season. Addie has two prior appearances at the State Championship including a top 25 All-State finish her freshman year. Great job today Addie and congratulations on advancing to State!
Senior Caleb Phillips ran in the last District meet of his high school career. He ran a season best of 17:31 to take 6th place. Caleb has raced at the Cross Country State Championship meet the past 3 years with two All-State finishes his sophomore and junior year. He is looking foward to running at State one last time and is on pace to capture another All-State finish. Congratulations Caleb!
Great job at Districts Pirates! Thank you for all your hard work this season Bailey and good luck at State next week Addison and Caleb! It is a great day to be a Pirate!
