Four Lady Pirates and three Pirates competed Thursday at the Humansville Invitational Cross Country meet. This race, which doubles as the PCL Conference Meet, was the last regular season event. Our runners are now gearing up for Districts in Hermitage this Saturday.
After finishing up the JH Basketball Season, Allie Sanchez-Chavez took advantage the opportunity to compete in dual-sports this fall. Allie ran a 15:07 in the 2-mile JH race. This was Allie's first time running cross country. She finished 3rd in the Junior PCL race, earning JH All-Conference honors! Congratulations and great job Allie! Allie is looking for to JH Track & Field this spring and can't wait until her freshmen year to run Cross Country.
Our Varsity Lady Pirates Kaelee Keehler, Izzy Willey and Bailey Allan pushed hard and ran well. All three finished the regular season with personal records! Kaelee finished 11th in the PCL and 14th place overall earning a place on the medal stand. Izzy took 14th in the PCL and placed 17th overall with a 27:21. Bailey took 15th in the PCL and 20th overall with a 29:21. Congratulations to Bailey who met her goal of breaking the 30 minute 5K barrier. Great job gals!
Carter Ferrell took 2nd in the PCL Conference and 2nd place overall with an 18:22. Way to run Carter! Carter earned PCL First Team All-Conference with today's performance. Sebastian Sanchez-Chavez took 14th in the PCL Conference and 17th overall with an 21:35. Parker Christian took 15th in the PCL and 19th overall with a 21:47. Great job XC Pirates!
The team will compete again on Saturday at the District Meet hosted by Wheatland at Outlet Park at Lake Pomme De Terre. The top 30th finishers will advance to the Cross Country Championships held at the University of Missouri's Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
