On January 29, our Macks Creek LifeSmarts team headed out to the Missouri State LifeSmarts Championship, and honestly, it was an absolute whirlwind. We were up against a ton of other schools from all over the state, testing everything from managing a bank account to knowing our consumer rights. Our team: Kaylee Hicks, Israel Husong, Maddie Moos, and Calvin Eidson, really found our groove early on. We were flying through the rounds, racking up points and feeling pretty unstoppable as we worked together to buzz in before the other teams could even blink.
We made it all the way to the final round, and the energy in the room was intense. It was a total nail-biter, but in the end, we came up just a little short, losing by only 20 points. It definitely stung to be that close to the trophy, especially after such a long day of competing, but we walked away proud of what we did. Even though we didn't take home the first-place win, coming in as the runners-up against some of the best teams in Missouri was a huge deal, and we had a blast representing Macks Creek.
