Congratulations to Julian Tucker for breaking the School Record in the Javelin! Julian now holds the record with his 36.04 meter throw! Obediah Tower set the previous record of 32.04 meters during the Spring of 2022. Julian also earned new PRs in the 100m (12.27), 200m (26.08) and 800m (2:31.24).
Izzy Willey earned our team's lone meet medal by taking 2nd place overall in the 400 Meter. Coach Salter shared, “We are Proud of you, Izzy! We look forward to you earning more medals as the season progresses.”
Michael Egan earned a new PR in Shot put with a throw of 9.56 meters. In addition, Michael has taken on the 200m (25.82) and is learning how to High Jump (1.52m). Coach Salter shared, "It's been fun watching our team add High Jump to our events list thanks to Maddie Moos who inspired other athletes to give it a try earlier in the season".
Reece Nations earned 3 new PR's in the 100m (12.13), 200 (25.32) and Long Jump (5.25m). "We are expecting to see Reece earn new PRs throughout the season as he keeps getting better", highlighted Coach Salter.
Bode Harrison also earned 3 new PR's with all his hard work and commitment to getting faster. 100m (14.04), 400 (1:14.33) and 800 (3:18.61). "Keep up the training", challenged Coach, "many more PRs will be earned"!
Stella Lappat is proving she has what it takes to compete in both sprints and long distance races. Stella earned 2 new PR's in the 100m (14.18) and 200m (31.66). Coach Salter mentioned, "she just keeps getting faster and we are excited to see her quick progress."
Coach also shared, "Kloe Hoback had her first official timed meet and has now set her PR's. We are certain she will bring even faster times as the season goes." Kloe ran the 100m (14.39), 200m (31.38), and 400m (1:13.34).
Bailey Allan brought home 2 new PR's in her long distance events: 1600m (8:32.36) and 800m (3:45.61). "Bailey, we are so proud of your efforts and look forward to your continued success and earning more PRs as the season progresses," stated Coach.
Maddie Moos earned a new PR in Long Jump (3.14m) and set her PR in Triple Jump (6.82m). Coach affirmed, "Maddie, again, thank you for taking on new events and being courageous for our team!"
Marshall also set his high school PRs last night competing in the Discus (20.59m) and Shot Put (7.80m). "Great Job, Marshall. Marshall has big goals by his senior year and we look forward to him reaching them. Hard work will pay off", shared Coach.
Aaron Hufferd had a great night of throwing, earning 2 new PR's in Javelin (19.75m) and Shot Put (9.13M). In addition, Aaron asked to be challenged in a running event so he put on a strong showing in the 400m (1:31.73).
Coach summed up the meet as follows: "I'm so proud of the early season gains and look forward to many more moments to celebrate in the future. Our next meet is scheduled for Thursday at Buffalo."
