Congratulations to our School Resource Officer, Deputy Ricky DeYoe, who recently completed a rigorous training program to become a certified D.A.R.E. Instructor. Deputy DeYoe, along with Deputy Chris Clarke, the SRO of Climax Springs School and 29 other Police Officers completed this course work. Thank you Deputy DeYoe for making this commitment to better serve our students through this program and thank you to the Camden County Sheriff's Department for making this possible. We are excited Deputy DeYoe will lead the Macks Creek Elementary D.A.R.E. Class of 2026 through this 10-week decision-making and resistance curriculum focused on helping students analyze risks, resist peer pressure, and avoid drugs and alcohol later this school year. Below is a more information from a press release issued by the Missouri Police Chiefs Association on September 25th:

After 10 long training days, even longer nights, tons of work, and lots of laughs, the Missouri Police Chiefs Association was proud to graduate another D.A.R.E. Officer Training Session of 31 officers from all across Missouri, as well as officers from Kansas, Illinois, Wyoming, Michigan, and Nebraska!

Again this year, 4 more D.A.R.E. Mentor Trainees from Missouri completed the second phase of their Mentor Officer Training, allowing them to train new D.A.R.E. Officers as well.  Congratulations to veteran D.A.R.E. Officers Zach Hudson from Washington Police Department, Stacy Drake from Cass County Sheriffs Office, Tony Karr from Sedalia Police Department, and James Cihy from Hickory County R-1 School District Skyline.

It is our honor and privilege to be the designated D.A.R.E. Training facility in the state for this once-a-year training opportunity, and we are happy to have been able to host those from other states.

These officers return to their communities and schools ready to positively impact the lives of countless children in the years to come. We respect the mission of these D.A.R.E. officers and wish them the very best.

We'd like to wish an extra special thank you to our dedicated D.A.R.E. Officer Training Team: State D.A.R.E.  Coordinator - Kevin Woodson, Mentors Tim Swadley - Aurora Missouri Police Department, Brent Forgey - Nixa Police Department, Jacob Wise - Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office, Kandi Greer - Camden County MO Sheriff's Office, and D.A.R.E. Educator Chad Hawkes, who joined us from Utah.
