Congratulations to six MCHS students who earned Missouri Agricultural Skills and Knowledge Assessment Industry Recognized Credentials (MOASK IRCs) on Tuesday in Marshall, MO! Daysha Brooks and Obediah Tower both earned an IRC in Floriculture.  Paxton Breshears, Vaughn Vasquez, Chase Christian, and Aidan Bowman all earned an IRC in Livestock Evaluation.  Well done students!

All Macks Creek High school students enrolled in a variety of agriculture courses have an amazing opportunity to go beyond classroom learning to real-world applications through the MOASK IRC  program. This program  recognizes students performing at proficient levels as set by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in a given discipline. Through the sponsorship of the Missouri Farm Bureau and the Missouri Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, students compete and are assessed in various fields. Local farm bureau leadership works hard to ensure there is adequate rigor within each event to ensure the requirements are fully met.  Students can earn a credential in agronomy, forestry, soils evaluation, farm business management, dairy cattle evaluation, horse evaluation, livestock evaluation, meat evaluation, poultry evaluation, and more.  Earning an IRC helps our students as they pursue vocational training or college degrees, when they apply for scholarships and when they apply for jobs to begin careers. Congratulations to all those who earned an IRC on Tuesday and good luck to students preparing to earn an IRC at upcoming events.  #MCPirates
