Members of the Macks Creek FCA traveled to Jefferson City yesterday for an opportunity to receive training in how to be effective servant leaders in athletics and within our school community. The event was held at the Special Olympics Training for Life Center. The group heard from various collegiate athletes and collaborated with athletes from other schools districts. The group also had the privilege to get to know a group of Special Olympians from Missouri as they participated in a variety of athletic competitions together. #MCPirates

Coach Overton and Coach Green took members of our Baseball Team and Cheer Squad to see the St. Louis Cardinals play the Pittsburgh Pirates this evening at Busch Stadium. The students are having a great time! For a few, it is their first ever MLB game. Coach Overton, a Cubs fan, and Coach Green, a Royals fan, put their differences aside and rooted for the Cards. Right now it is the bottom of the 8th St. Louis is trailing Pittsburgh 6 - 4. Let's go Cardinals! #MCPirates
Skyline with Macks Creek football started their first week of summer workouts this past Monday. The Pirates had a good showing and are eager to compete on the gridiron with our neighbors in Skyline. Morning workouts continue this week again. Transportation to Skyline will also be provided in the morning, with the bus leaving Macks Creek at 6:05 a.m. #MCPirates
The Macks Creek Lady Pirates Varsity squad played well at this weekend's Sonic Shootout with a 2nd place finish in their bracket. The ladies were initially placed in the JV bracket against teams from Sparta, Camdenton and Nixa. After the Lady Pirates beat each team by a wide margin, officials placed our gals in the Varsity Division. The girls defeated Stockton and MCE before proceeding to a final game against Mountain Grove, losing by 6. Coach Duggan reports our "girls played tough and hard." Great job Lady Pirates! #MCPirates

MCHS High School Boys - Football conditioning begins tomorrow! Transportation will be provided to and from Skyline for morning conditioning all summer. The bus will depart from the MCHS parking lot promptly at 6:05 AM. Speed/Strength training will run from 6:30-7:30 Monday through Thursday. Athletes will have Football Skill, Crew Comps and Leadership Training from 7:30 - 8:30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively. Anyone unsure about playing in the fall is strongly encouraged to attend conditioning to get to know the game, your coaches and your teammates! Every Monday from 6:00 - 7:30 PM the team will travel to Bolivar for 7 on 7 action against other area teams. If your work schedule presents any conflicts - please visit with Coach - conditioning is scheduled in the early mornings to provide athletes with flexibility to attend conditioning and still have summer jobs. The annual LEAD conference held at State Fair Community College brings officers and advisors together as they begin a new year. During the conference, the officer teams set goals, develop officer codes of conduct and expectations, plan a program of calendar activities as well as explore working together as a team.
