Macks Creek R-V COVID-19 Update: Our district does not have any active cases and we only have one individual in quarantine. Thank you for continuing to take steps to keep the virus out of our school. Good morning Pirate family! Today we honor the brave men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces. Throughout this school year we have experienced many difficulties and alternative formats for most events. The Macks Creek High School Student Council, along with many other students, were saddened that we are not able to host the traditional Veterans Day program. To that point, they organized, directed, and produced their own version of the school's traditional program to honor veterans both local and afar. The Macks Creek Science Olympiad teams traveled to Hermitage for the annual Polk County League competitions. The high school team made up of Daysha Brooks, Ethan English, and Makenna Campbell competed on October 28th. They placed second in both the Egg Drop and Catapult competitions.
On November 4th, the middle school team comprised of Isaac Taylor, Julian Tucker, Parker Kolwyck, Kassidy Campbell, Cash Moulder, Jonathan Kelsey, Riley Manning, Chase Christian, and Paxten Breshears competed at Hermitage. Several students placed in the top three in their event. Congratulations to Chase Christian (1st Weather Test), Jonathan Kelsey, Cash Moulder and Riley Manning (3rd Picture This), and Parker Kolwyck, Isaac Taylor, and Julian Tucker (3rd Aluminum Boat). The Pirates pushed hard today at the State XC meet at MU's Gans Creek Course in Columbia. Caleb finished 56th with a time of 18:50. Kyler finished 123rd with a time 20:32. The Pirates were in a field of approximately 190 runners. Great job to these Freshmen who will no doubt continue to be competitive in years ahead! Thank you both for a great season! #MCPirates
