The 2022 Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program (MoNASP) state archery tournament was held March 17-19 at the Branson Convention Center. The event drew more than 4,300 student archers in grades 4-12 from 218 schools across the state. The tournament was sponsored and coordinated by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF).
Macks Creek School was represented by Eva Willis, Ava Willis, Preston Langley, Wyatt Brooks, Daysha Brooks and Joe Hufferd. Eva scored her personal average, Ava tied her personal best, and Wyatt set a personal record by improving 13 points from his previous high score. Students returned with respectable scores, tshirts, lots of Ci Ci’s pizza and an experience to remember. All agreed it was not as intimidating as expected.
Macks Creek Archery is optimistic and looking toward the future. Kicking off the summer will be a daylong ”All Around Archery Workshop” followed by weekly open range days for students to hone in on their skills throughout the summer.
